I absolutely LOVED this episode. Every day I watch YouTube videos posted by Ocean Conservation Namibia. They have a worldwide fanbase that exceeds 2 million subscribers. Their main goal is to make the world aware of the dangers of single use plastics entering our oceans by rescuing animals harmed by our negligence. The vast majority are the seals featured in this episode that they rescue at Pelican Point… and Cape Cross, and the huge bachelor bulls who hang out near the fish processing plants at the Walvis Bay harbor.
It was really cool to get to see a bit more of OCN’s surroundings since their videos are focused on the catch, removal and release. On occassion we’ll get to see a whale appear offshore or a couple of jackals prowling the beaches for an easy meal off in the distance. They have a documentary that came out last year called ‘Cutting the Line’ available on Viemo, which I don’t have, and I’m patiently waiting for it to become more widely available.
