WHY IS DAVE so desperate to stay ? all of a sudden – he can see himself falling in love with her ?

Jaqui is a textbook narcissist. We just aren’t used to seeing it in females. Here is the DSM 5 criteria-

I’ve never seen an actual tear when Jacqui “cries”.

WHY do they kick certain people off when one person wants to leave and others are “forced” to stay in an undeniably dysfunctional and irretrievably broken situation? Obvs…ratings. But it’s kind of dangerous for these experts – John again – to put out the message that mentally and emotionally unwell people should be given “a second chance” in fake and contrived “relationships” to CONTINUE their emotional/psychological rampage. It’s one thing for someone like Awhina to make the choice to stay in dysfunction…it’s ANOTHER to (via the power of production) keep a simple person like Ryan attached and engaged to the certifiable Jacqui.
Now, obviously, no one is truly forced against their will to film BUT…it’s always disheartening (in a general sense) to get the impression that either 1) people will endure continuous emotional and psychological abuse for…fleeting “fame”, OR 2) people want to leave but producers are so insidiously manipulative that they convince these people (already in a Stockholm Situation with their reliance on these same producers) to stay in a situation that is a waste of everyone’s time. Poor sad simple Ryan.  
 

Of all of the “experts”…I find John to be the most frustrating. Alexandra is pretty straightforward and sees and calls bullshit out but John seems to let some really dysfunctional shit slide – nothing but compliments to Adrian…ADRIAN!?! AFTER his hemming and hawing about how he wants to approach this long-distance relationship with Awhina (on Adrian’s terms) was WILD. 
And look, Awhina has her own dysfunction going on with the how? and why? she chooses to stay with a-hole Adrian and his mumbling gaslighting selfish ass – if she still wants him, she gets what she gets. But John clapping Adrian on the back for “working through” his issues with a woman who already had a kid was…😳.
And he ALWAYS seems too bored to actually call people out (depending) which is why it always seems like he RUSHES to the decision. Basically ignoring the room full of red flags so he can get through filming. It’s been his consistent behavior since I started watching these from season 3 on.
